A producer only market of farmers, food vendors, crafts, and artisans since 1973 – The Charlottesville City Market is held every Saturday from 7:00am till Noon from April through December Downtown Charlottesville at Water Street and South Street between 1st and 2nd. City Market offers fresh produce, herbs, plants, grass fed meats, crafts, and baked goods from local vendors every Saturday, April – December. The market features over 100 vendors every Saturday morning. SNAP customers can redeem their benefits at the market for fresh produce.
New construction was slated for this block mid 2016 to build a commercial building and a Market Plaza (now known as West 2nd) cost complications and design issues accommodating the City Market have caused delays and design changes that have many vendors upset and is under review by City Council – vendors still are baffled why the Council did not select the design they preferred which dealt with the Market properly: see http://marketsquare.charlottesvillecitymarket.com/city-council-discussion/ for the June 2016 decision
Descriptive Information for each vendor will be available here, we have a membership site access so each vendor can post and edit their own information. Click Here if you are a vendor interested in access and ability to post to this site.

After the Market Meeting we decided to revive the vendor operated site since the vendors wanted to be able to manage an informative site about the market and it vendors.
